Sally Amoruso is Executive Principal for EAB, a best practice research and technology provider serving over 1,200 colleges and universities across North America in the areas of academic affairs, business affairs, student affairs, continuing, online and professional education. In this role, Ms. Amoruso serves as a representative of the Office of the President and a strategic advisor to presidents & chancellors, provosts and other leadership at EAB’s key member institutions, with the aim of achieving a more seamless and tightly-aligned partnership across EAB’s multitude of capabilities. She is also responsible for introducing and refining new offerings to serve members’ greatest needs.
Ms. Amoruso formerly served as General Manager of National and Strategic Accounts for the Advisory Board Company (now Optum), managing a senior team dedicated to holistically serving and strategically partnering with some of the largest, most progressive health systems across the country. Prior to that, Ms. Amoruso led the firm’s efforts to support health systems in elevating and improving patient experience through a technology-based collaborative.
Sally obtained her MA with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, her MBA with distinction from the Wharton Graduate School of Business and her bachelor’s with honors from Harvard University.
Ms. Amoruso initially joined the Advisory Board Company in 1992 and held a variety of executive positions within the company, as well as its sister organization, CEB (now Gartner) —including General Manager of Syndicated Research and Chief Marketing Officer. She has helped to lead the launch of several new service offerings for the firm, including the company’s first efforts at physician education, talent management and more. She was also part of the executive team at the CEB who stewarded the firm’s successful IPO and early years as a public company. Outside of the Advisory Board Company, she has served as President of several health care retail start-ups.
Ms. Amoruso’s early career experience includes management consulting, investment banking, and international marketing. She obtained her MA with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, her MBA with distinction from the Wharton Graduate School of Business and her AB with honors from Harvard University.
She resides in Washington, DC with her husband Paul and is an avid runner, foodie, musician and theater-goer. She serves on the board of Imagination Stage, a nationally renowned children’s theater and education organization.
