Minnesota: University names new chancellor

The University of Minnesota, Morris (UMM) has named Michelle Behr its next chancellor. Behr currently serves as provost, senior vice president for academic affairs, and dean of the college at Birmingham-Southern College. Behr will be UMM's sixth chancellor, succeeding Jacqueline R. Johnson. Behr's appointment goes into effect Feb. 6, 2017.

"I am thrilled that we are able to attract a leader of Michelle's caliber," said UM President Eric Kaler in a statement. "Michelle's broad experience in the liberal arts, deep commitment to students, and engagement in the broader higher education community make her an ideal person to lead the Morris campus" (UM press release, 11/22).
