Forbes names 800 best employers—and 60 schools made the cut

Forbes last week released its rankings of "America's Best Employers" and "America's Best Midsize Employers" for 2017.

For the rankings, Forbes worked with statistics firm Statista to cull data from a survey of 30,000 U.S. employees. In the survey, respondents were asked to rate on a scale from zero to 10 how likely they were to recommend their organization to family or friends. The survey also asked employees to recommend companies other than their own.

The "Best Employers" list features 500 companies with more than 5,000 employees. The "Best Midsize Employers" list includes 300 companies with between 1,000 and 5,000 workers.
