Where today’s millionaires went to college

American colleges dominate the list of top places where millionaires went to college, Chris Weller reports for Business Insider.

The data firm WealthInsight, which aggregates intelligence on high-net worth individuals, worked with news site Verdict to find out which of the world's institutions have produced the greatest numbers of millionaires. They produced the ranking using WealthInsight's ongoing database of over 200,000 high-net-worth individuals.

Here are the 10 institutions with the most millionaire graduates:

1. Harvard University

2. Stanford University

3. University of Pennsylvania

4. Columbia University

5. Oxford University

6. Massachusetts Institute of Technology

7. New York University

8. Cambridge University

9. Northwestern University

10. University of Chicago

Eight of the top 10 institutions are located in the United States and the other two are located in the United Kingdom. The highest ranked institution that isn't based in one of those two countries is Israel's Tel Aviv University, which ranked 27th (Weller, Business Insider, 9/25).
