About James

James Hurley is a Consultant at EAB. In this capacity, he conducts research related to fundraising in higher education; he has worked on issues related to major gift officer recruitment, affinity-based giving, talent acquisition, mid-level giving, and the changing face of the 21st century donor.

Prior to joining EAB, James worked at the U.S. Senate and the U.S. Department of State. James was the first recipient of the U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Program's joint award with the Northern Ireland Assembly and the Queen's University of Belfast, where he conducted research on the legislative Assembly.

James studied at Oxford University, the Queen's University of Belfast, and Iona College. He holds degrees in political science, history, and legislative affairs and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Art in London.
