What systems do universities have in place to effectively comply with effort reporting requirements?

Summary

This brief examines how six universities structure the system of effort reporting. The requesting member was interested in learning about electronic modules that streamline the reporting process, increasing efficiency and encouraging faculty to comply with federal effort reporting policy. Interviews revealed that faculty are generally more likely to certify their effort in a timely and accurate manner if asked to do so through an electronic system as opposed to a paper system.
