Summary

In recent years, general education efforts have focused on obtaining measurable results of student learning.  Many institutions use learning outcomes to illustrate the purposes and benefits of general education.  This brief analyzes how administrators assess progress towards learning outcomes in general education programs and also how they use data to inform curricular decisions.
