As institutions reduce school and college budgets, deans lower administrative expenditures with new organization models, particularly shared services. This report examines how institutions provide faculty with administrative services (e.g., human resources, accounting, finance) under shared services models across academic units. More specifically, it examines service center organizational structures and staffing, service model implementation, and transition and service impacts on department efficiency.
