Most institutions already offer a range of one-off services to bring in additional revenue, such as encouraging senior citizens to audit courses for a small fee or renting out a vacant auditorium to community groups.

But these one-off fees rarely add up to big money. The real opportunity comes in finding ways to “upsell” users to bundled services or long-term, premium memberships.
