About the Toolkit

Even before the recent economic crisis, universities were under increasing pressure to constrain growth in operating budgets. Yet despite their best efforts, many universities still struggle with inefficient, redundant, and needlessly costly business processes that fall short of meeting university needs and faculty demands. Business Affairs Forum research examines how a growing number of colleges and universities are overcoming barriers to shared services implementation, as well as engaging faculty in new service delivery models.

Based on 120+ interviews with institutions and experts, the Forum’s Shared Services Implementation Toolkit and Resource Center includes case profiles of shared service centers at leading universities along with tools and templates to assist with migration.
