Resolve financial issues to improve adult and online student success

Many initiatives aimed at promoting persistence among adult and online learners focus on reducing academic risks and improving student engagement. In reality, financial concerns often pose as great a challenge to completion. As a result, COE units must help students better understand their financial options to minimize drop-out due to these concerns.

We’ve highlighted two main strategies for providing financial support to adult and online students. These approaches aim to determine students with the highest financial risks that threaten success, and to equip them with the information they need to address financial questions without commanding extensive institutional resources.
