Research Questions

  • What are profiles of the most innovative practices in university career centers?
  • How have these centers addressed the topics of increasing student use, building relationships with employers, and going beyond the traditional career fair?

Summary

This project unpacks the 21st century career center, profiling practices identified as increasing student use of the center and providing guidance across a student's tenure. Traditionally, universities used the career fair as the primary vehicle for connecting students and employers. Council research, however, uncovered a variety of innovative practices designed to build bridges with faculty, alumni, parents, and employers to open the door to unlimited opportunities for students.
