How student affairs can more effectively partner with law enforcement

Community law enforcement agencies are key partners with institutions of higher education in their efforts to manage campus sexual misconduct, and improving this relationship is an ongoing priority for student affairs divisions. There are three critical elements to ensure an effective institution-law enforcement partnership: craft and utilize effective memorandums of understanding (MOUs), provide training to campus and local law enforcement, and coordinate efforts.

As summer starts, take some time with your sexual violence task force to think about how your institution can better engage local law enforcement in the fight against campus sexual misconduct.
